What
Citizensofculture.net is an e-zine for European culture whose content is provided by its members who are cultural actors. Citizensofculture.net focuses mainly on cultural issues such as cultural policies, cultural management, cultural development, co-operation, networking etc.
It is a common platform to share content, communicate and to increase visibility at European level for both individuals and institutions involved in culture and arts.
Citizensofculture.net is connected to two other e-zines which are inter-related to each other:
artacademia.net (e-zine and virtual network for culture and arts education and research)
artcitizens.net (e-zine and virtual network for contemporary arts in Europe)
Your membership to any one of them allows you to use the same features in the other ones.
Aims
1. To create a new arts and culture medium for Europe which is strong, open, free, independent, wide reaching and inter-sectoral,
2. To connect the cultural actors Europe-wide and therefore to strengthen the power of civil society,
3. To create a virtual community of “active European citizens of culture” by contributing to a common medium,
4. To develop culture and arts audience Europe-wide.

The content of the site is uploaded from all over Europe mainly in English, but also in other languages. The platform includes a Google translate button by which all the content can be translated to other languages.
